Print Methods

Printing gives you many advantages: it’s extremely durable and it can create unique and complex designs , including fine text. We have a range of different print techniques, some are more appropriate than the others depending on the garments you are using or the complexity of your design. The printing processes we offer are Screen Print, DTG (Direct-To-Garment) and Transfer Print – these are detailed below.

DTG Printing

Direct To Garment (DTG) Printing is a printing method where a specialist printer applies the special pigment ink directly to the garment – as the name suggests. With this print method we can print very fine and detailed images and designs, which is absorbed into the fabric (unlike transfers that sit on top of the fabric).

This is perfect solution for detailed images, and can produce prints of incredible vibrancy and detail using eco-friendly NeoPigment™ inks, that is 100% free of toxins, and is safe for infants and babies. This method is ideally suited for one-off prints as well as full colour jobs needing a fast turnaround. This is ideal for t-shirts and hoodies. The higher the cotton content, the more vibrant the image is.

Screen Printing

Screen printing is one of the traditional methods of printing, and is ideal for larger orders. It involves the application of colour with ink directly through a screen onto the garment, and is printed colour by colour for multi-colour designs. Each colour will have a different screen. After all of the colours have been applied the garment then goes through a drying process to ensure the ink does not wash out. We use a mix of manual and automatic carousels to complete our screen print orders.

Transfer Printing

We have a couple of different options on the transfer printing method, these are all dependant on the individual requirements as to what process we recommend.

We have a vinyl transfer which is similar to the way names and numbers are put onto sports shirts. This method of printing is great for less complex design with low number of colours, typically a design with 1 or 2 colours in it.

We also offer screen printed transfers, where the design is screen printed onto specialist papers and an adhesive added to the print. This is can be used for intricate designs that contain a single solid colour upto multiple solid colours. This design option is better for jobs that are 50 or more, or we stock the transfer print ready to be used for future orders. This type of print can be pantone matched if required.

We offer 2 full colour transfer print systems – our Versacamm cad cut prints, and our DTF prints. The versacamm is ideal for sponsor logos on football shirts, and designs that do not require intricate details. The DTF prints can contain very intricate designs and small lettering, with unlimited colours available.
